The Victoria ISD Board of Trustees has named Justin Gabrysch as the district’s Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services. Gabrysch brings nearly two decades of dedicated service to VISD, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to growth, excellence, and meaningful change within the district.
Gabrysch began his career with VISD in 2006 at Patti Welder Middle School, serving as both a teacher and coach. From 2012 to 2014, he held the role of assistant principal at Cade Middle School before transitioning to Victoria East High School, where he served first as assistant principal and then as principal.
Throughout his career, Gabrysch has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and dedication to student success. He was named VISD Teacher of the Year in 2010, earned the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 3 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year award in 2017, and received the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 3 Outstanding Principal of the Year award in 2023.
In addition to leading campus operations, Gabrysch has spearheaded several district-wide initiatives. Most notably, he led the participatory budgeting initiative, empowering students and staff to take part in decision-making processes. For the past two years, he has served as a master principal, mentoring campus leaders across the district and working to align efforts that enhance college, career, and military readiness (CCMR) across both comprehensive high schools.
As Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, Gabrysch will oversee a range of operational and student support functions that directly impact VISD campuses. He will work closely with campus administrators to implement safe and supportive learning environments and ensure compliance with state and district policies. Gabrysch will also lead district wide initiatives to strengthen campus safety, improve support systems, and maintain strong relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
“It’s a privilege to continue serving the students, families, and staff of VISD in this new role,” said Gabrysch. “This district has been a defining part of my professional journey, and I am committed to supporting our schools, strengthening our systems, and helping create the best possible experiences for every student and educator.”
“Mr. Gabrysch is a proven leader who brings both heart and strategy to his work,” said VISD Superintendent Sheila Collazo. “His deep knowledge of our district and strong relationships with staff and families make him an ideal fit for this leadership role. I look forward to the continued positive impact he will have across VISD.”
Gabrysch’s appointment reflects VISD’s continued focus on strong leadership and innovative practices that support student achievement and operational excellence.
