The Grounds Department maintains the grounds at each VISD facility. Some tasks include mowing, trimming hedges / trees, marking fields for games, prepping stadiums before and after games, maintain sprinkler systems at each facility and fertilizing when needed.

The Grounds Department also maintains the Integrated Pest Management Program by addressing insects on school grounds. Licensed individuals spray weeds as needed to maintain the upkeep of the campuses.

A furniture crew is responsible for picking up inventory disposition items, picking up repairable items and moving furniture. Chairs and tables are also delivered during special events.

A sanitation driver picks up trash dumpsters daily from all facilities.
