The Board of Trustees of Victoria Independent School District (VISD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Gina Vilches as the new principal of Chandler Elementary School for the 2024-25 school year.
Dr. Vilches joins Chandler Elementary with a wealth of experience in educational administration. Since 2022, she has served as the principal of Goliad Middle School, where she implemented innovative programs that significantly enhanced student engagement and academic performance. Prior to her tenure at Goliad, Dr. Vilches accumulated over a decade of experience in secondary campus administration, serving as a secondary counselor, assistant principal, and principal. In addition, she spent nearly ten years in the classroom as a dedicated educator.
Dr. Vilches holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her academic background and professional experience make her exceptionally well-qualified to lead Chandler Elementary into a new era of excellence.
