Victoria East High School’s Titan Theatre UIL One Act Play (OAP) Team, also known as The Hyperion Players, have once again made history—advancing to the fourth round of the prestigious UIL One Act Play competition! Out of approximately 252 schools that entered the contest statewide in 2025, Victoria East is now one of only 48 schools remaining in the competition.

This year's production of Romeo and Juliet will be performed at Area on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center in Bastrop, Texas. Admission is $7 for general and $5 for Patrons.

The UIL One Act Play contest, established in 1931, is the largest high school play production contest in the world, created to spotlight and promote the theatrical arts in Texas public schools. Schools compete in multiple rounds, with only 24 schools advancing to Region and the top 8 making it to State.

Titan Theatre has continued to raise the bar—advancing to Bi-District three times, Area twice, and making a historic run to Region in 2022, marking the first time a Victoria school had ever reached that level.

The 2025 UIL OAP team includes a talented cast and crew of sixteen student performers and technicians: Alexandria Rosengrant, Aaron Buesing, Minh-Tam Le, Bailey Perez, Marley Duran, Greg Buesing, Eliana West, Giuliana Fuentes, Sarah Hagan, Weihan Thomas, Evan Zuniga, India Morales, Hannah Hernandez, Alyssa Vargas, Josh Burdette, and Cristian Montano.

We are so proud of these students for their continued dedication, passion, and pursuit of excellence in the theatrical arts. Break a leg at Area, Hyperion Players—Victoria is cheering you on!
