The Victoria ISD Board of Trustees has officially approved the 2025-26 Academic Calendar, setting the first day of school for Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and the last day of school for Thursday, May 28, 2026.
The development of the academic calendar was a collaborative effort led by the VISD District Education Committee (DEC), composed of staff representatives from every VISD campus and district departments. Beginning in November, a subcommittee reviewed staff survey feedback and required instructional parameters, ultimately crafting five calendar options. After thorough analysis in January, the DEC refined the options, which were reviewed by VISD Cabinet members and campus principals. A districtwide staff survey in late January received nearly 700 responses, with Option A earning 75% of the vote. In response, VISD administration recommended Option A, which the Board approved at its February 20 meeting.
The VISD administration thanks the District Education Committee, staff, and all stakeholders for their time and thoughtful input in developing a calendar that best serves students, families, and educators.
