Energy Management

Energy Management supports all VISD facilities with comfort through a computerized program that controls the usage district-wide. By maintaining the electrical, water and gas usage, the annual budget can be upheld.

Utilities are an essential factor at each campus. The goal of the Energy Management office is to program and schedule and minimize the utilities at each facility and continue to maintain a comfortable learning environment for students, staff and parents.

A recent development in energy conservation is the newly approved Board policy to remove all unnecessary items such as microwaves, refrigerators and any unapproved electrical appliance.

See Board Policies / Regulations: Energy Conservation Regulation CL.

Saving Incentives

Savings as a result of the Energy Conservation Regulation CL will be returned to campuses on an annual basis. Guidelines will be developed to reward campuses that show increased energy conservation.
