I'm Danette Diaz and I am the Library Media Teacher at PWMS. This is my first year as a librarian after thirteen years in an ELAR classroom, mostly at the 8th grade level. I hold a BA in English from Texas State University, a Texas Teacher's Certificate that covers ELAR and Social Studies from 4th through 12th grade, and I'm currently working on my Masters of Library and Information Science at Texas Woman's University (Go, Pioneers!).
The library was always an oasis from the demands of school, and I hope to create that environment for the students at PWMS while also helping to create independent, digitally literate, creative thinkers.
Students at PW can check out three books at a time for a two-week time period. Books can be renewed once for another two weeks if needed.
While there are no fines for overdue books, lost materials will need to be paid for by the end of the school year. These fines can follow your student through high school and to graduation and make it harder for them to get their diplomas. I don't want that. You don't want that. So please remind your students to be mindful of their library books and turn them in.
It is my pleasure to serve Patti Welder students, staff, and community. I am glad to be your Library Media Teacher and proud to be a Panther! Panther Pride!
