Victoria Independent School District is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for its highly anticipated new Mission Valley Elementary campus. The construction of this state-of-the-art facility was made possible through the approval of Proposition C during the November 2, 2021, bond election.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Friday, September 8 at 8:30 a.m. at the future site of the Mission Valley Elementary Campus, located at 12063 FM 236 (Upper Mission Valley Road). The event will mark a significant milestone in our mission to provide exceptional educational opportunities for the community's youngest learners.
The new elementary campus is designed to meet the evolving needs of 21st-century education, creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for students. It will feature cutting-edge classrooms, well-equipped science and technology labs, a comprehensive library, and dedicated outdoor spaces for learning and physical activities. The campus's modern architecture and sustainable design will prioritize energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability, and accommodate the growing Mission Valley community.
"We are truly excited to break ground on our new elementary campus," said Dr. Quintin Shepherd, Superintendent of Schools at Victoria ISD. "This project represents our unwavering commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for our students. With the support of the community through the bond election, we can now build a facility that will enhance learning opportunities and foster growth for generations to come."
The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by the Bond Oversight Committee, esteemed community leaders, members of the school board, faculty, staff, parents, and students. The event will include remarks from key stakeholders, an official groundbreaking moment, and a celebratory atmosphere as we commemorate this significant milestone.
Victoria ISD extends an open invitation to the community to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. We encourage all residents, parents, and supporters to attend and witness the beginning of a new era in education.
