The only pursuit by local first responders on Thursday was to the lunch line at Hopkins Elementary for fresh enchiladas!
Hopkins Elementary students were joined during their lunch by Texas State Troopers, Victoria Fire, and Victoria Police Department.
Tamara Tucker, the social emotional behavioral specialist at Hopkins Elementary, coordinated the lunch visit to introduce students to first responders and to begin building a relationship with those who will be there to help them in emergency situations. Students were able to meet first responders, sing Christmas songs while they enjoyed lunch, and ask questions about their jobs.
"I feel as if it is important for first responders and our students and community to have positive communication and trust,” said Tucker. “You would be amazed at the change that can be made with the brief, but positive interactions."
Thank you, Texas State Troopers, Victoria Fire, and Victoria Police Department., for your continued community partnership in educating our students about first responders.
